I could get into the tear inducing story about how Katherine and Caleb met, but suffice to say it is storybook perfect.
He is a mathematician. She is a dancer. They met frequenting the New York City swing dancing scene. I was thrilled to be the planner on this wedding because it was so incredibly THEM. It was such a delight to synthesize what would seem like unlikely themes and ideas to create a unique event on many levels. One of the many things I especially loved about this wedding was Katherine's carefully curated vendor list. Many were personal friends or close acquaintances who were small businesses just starting out.
The morning of the wedding, the ladies were treated to beauty and brunch by Alexa and Pauline of Lip Service NYC. Hair by Jess Hwang.
Thedetails beautifully represented the blue, blush, and grey color palette with use of a modern celestial theme while still maintaining a very classic feel. The gorgeous florals were designed by Maxine Derderian of Willow & Wine. I created a custom program that emulated the invitation.
The ceremony took place at Central Presbyterian Church with Katherine's father presiding!
They enjoyed dinner at a classic NYC destination where they also signed the certificate of marriage...

Following dinner, guests gathered for a dessert and dancing reception (emphasis on dancing...) at Gibney Dance Studios downtown, featuring the Glenn Crytzer Band. A lesson was given for those who needed a brush up on their steps or a brief introduction to swing dance!
